Among the subjects in the dental sciences, Public health dentistry forms the basis of dental healthcare and is essential for developing awareness about the social aspects of the profession and the responsibilities towards the community among all those who are engaged in this profession.
In a novel approach, special emphasis has to be laid on education of various strata of Indian society about the epidemiological aspects of oral diseases and conditions. Keeping this in mind, we have a fully equipped mobile dental van with two dental chairs to provide dental care in the villages.
We have treated more than 40,000 patients, covered more than 100 nearby villages, conducted over 200 mega camps in the form of awareness camps, diagnostic camps & treatment camps apart from our daily door-to-door camps.
We have two fully equipped satellite clinics at Hingna and Wadi and we also plan to open one more satellite clinic at Butibori.
Apart from this, we have also adopted 3 villages viz Sangam, Bazargaon and Suraburdi, where we provide free dental treatment.
Our only aim in opening the satellite clinics, adopting villages, schools and hostels is to provide dental facilities to the needy anddisadvantaged populations for whom the college is inaccessible.
With the conduct of these activities, we strive to do our bit in changing the face of the society towards the better as also to create competent dentists who are sensitive towards human values.
We have organized more than 200 mega health camps besides our daily regular health camps and diagnosed and treated more than 50000 patients in our mobile dental van in far flung and remote areas where otherwise such type of dental facility is merely a dream.
