About the Department

  • Pathology is the "scientific study of disease". To elaborate, it is the scientific study of the molecular, cellular, tissue, or organ system response to injurious agents. It is the foundation of medical science and practice. Without pathology, the practice of medicine would be reduced to myths and folklore".

    Pathology serves as a "bridge" or "link" between the preclinical sciences (anatomy, physiology, etc.) and the courses in clinical medicine. It is the study of what is abnormal or wrong or disease. This department imparts educational training in pathology to dental students to build up their confidence to manage the patients and undertake various research based projects.

H.O.D.'S Foreword

The department imparts academic training in pathology to dental students making them confident in identifying the patients with medical diseases for different dental procedures and further management of patients. Pursuit of excellence has always been a time honoured tradition in our department. With the persistent efforts of our faculties, we have achieved consistent results in academics like Honours in Pathology. The various measures and regular meetings strengthen the department along the line of academics and administration. I pledge to continue my efforts for my department for its development in academic excellence, advanced research, make concerted efforts for all to work together and move forward.
