Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh Smruti Dental College & Hospital has been established with the mission to impart quality health care education, to produce dental professionals who are globally competent, concerned, compassionate, consistent and committed to research and healthcare of society at affordable cost. Our institute firmly believes that ‘No Institute is complete without the highest standards of Academics and Research’.

On 13th April 2018, our institute celebrated Research Day as an event marking the celebration of 85th Birth Anniversary year of Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh & completion of 11 glorious years of Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh Smruti Dental College & Hospital. During the event, our Hon'ble Founder President Shri Sharadji Kalmegh Sir announced the Research Cash Award of INR 1,11,111 /- each for faculty/ alumni and students in the name of PadmabhushanLate Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed and Padmavibhushan Padmabhushan Prof. Dr. MM Sharma, respectively.

The First edition was heldas two different events organized on 22nd February 2019 and 16th March 2019,for faculty and students’ categories,respectively. The award function was presided by Padmavibhushan Padmabhushan Hon'ble Prof. Dr. MM Sharma & Padmashri Hon'ble Prof. Dr. GD Yadav was Guest of Honor. During this event, our President Shri Sharadji Kalmegh Sir declared a Decade of Research & Innovation in Healthcare(2018-28) and institution of three more Research Cash Awards of INR 1,11,111/- each in addition to the previous two awards.He also mentioned that these Research Awards is the beginning & contribution towards promoting Research in Dentistry. The awards instituted will be Best Patent Award in Oral Healthcare, Best Corporate Connect Award in Oral healthcare and Best Research Award in PG Category amongst the six districts of East Vidarbha Region.
